Make sure you bring water and snacks for the longer rides.

The BCCClub rides year-round and seldom has to cancel due to bad

weather.  Here is a good way to determine if the ride is “on or off ”:

If it’s raining, or if the streets have puddles from the night before,

the ride is off. It’s always a good idea to check the weather

forecast before a ride; be prepared and dress appropriately!

Tuesday Explorer

  • 18 Jan 2022
  • 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Captain Kidd's, 209N Harbor Drive, Redondo Beach, CA 90277
Iconic destination!
(rescheduled from the rained out Dec 7 ride)

39.9 mi, 2789 ft, Pearl Harbor day ride - Ride Leader : Mario

Battery Osgood-Farley and the Korean Bell

Battery Osgood-Farley is well preserved example of a United States coastal defense gun emplacement

Pace : L2

The Tuesday ride has a variable route by design. If you want novelty, this is your ride. Routes vary between ~35-55 miles, 1000-3000 feet of climbing, typically in the middle third of the distance range (41-49 miles). Expect a Level 2, or faster L3 pace, no drop. If we go to an eating place, expect a "digestion pace" on the return.

Often there is a destination (a vista point, climb, point of interest, etc). We try to go to the places that are interesting but would be crowded on a weekend (eg, Hollywood Sign, Inspiration Point, Porto's, etc). We are usually done by 1-2pm, and an after ride coffee or meal stop is customary (unless we do that coffee stop mid ride).

Ride start is 9am, at the plaza just south of Captain Kidd's
